October 31st, 2023... it's Halloween night as the Texas Rangers take on the Arizona Diamondbacks in this spooky showdown out west for Game 4 of the 2023 World Series. The Rangers showcased their offensive firepower, scoring 11 runs in this contest off of various D-Backs' bullpen arms in the early innings of the game.

Texas would ultimately come away with an 11-7 victory, taking a monumental leap to capturing their first World Series title in franchise history. They now hold the advantage in the series with a 3-1 lead after an excellent, "beyond expectations" start from lefty Andrew Heaney.

Here is the Gameday lineups, stats, and graphics related to World Series Game 4 for your further viewing.

Diamondbacks vs Rangers Game 4 Recap

In the bottom of the first inning, Arizona's leadoff batter Ketel Marte extended his postseason to 20 games with a hard ground ball single up the middle to center field. Then, for the next two innings it would be all about the Rangers offense.

In the top of the second inning, a wild pitch by Arizona reliever Miguel Castro would score Rangers' Josh Jung from third base for the first run of the contest. Then, later in the inning with two runners on and two outs, Marcus Semien broke out of his slump with a two run triple down the line in left field, putting the score at 3-0. Then, the man of the hour, Corey Seager, would drill yet another home run. This time around, Seager's home run traveled 431 feet and left the bat at 108.4 mph, scoring himself and Semien and putting the Rangers up 5-0.

Then, in the top of the third inning after two singles and a error from a fielder's choice play, Travis Jankowski, who is in to replace the injured Adolis Garcia, would barrel a two run double to right field building on the Rangers' lead even further, making the score at 7-0. Then, the next batter Semien, who is arguably the MVP of Game 4, would piece a three run home run to left center field, giving Texas an emphatic 10-0 lead in only the top of the third inning.

Rangers' starter Heaney put in a tremendous performance throwing five innings, allowing four hits, one run, two walks, and striking out three batters. While originally thought to be a bullpen game with pitchers only going two to three innings max, the southpaw provided major relief to the bullpen getting through more innings than he was expected to. The only run he allowed was a sacrifice fly hit by Lourdes Gurriel Jr. in the bottom of the fourth inning, scoring catcher Gabirel Moreno, and making the score 10-1 at the time

In the top of the eighth, the Rangers would tack on one more run with a solo blast by Jonah Heim, his third of the postseason, giving the Rangers their 10 run lead back with the score being 11-1. However, the Diamondbacks would make it close in the later innings, piling up six runs between the bottom of the eighth and ninth innings.

A Tommy Pham sacrifice fly and Gurriel Jr. three run shot in the eighth paired with a two run single by Moreno in the ninth would ultimately not be enough. In the bottom of the ninth, the Rangers brought in their star closer Jose Leclerc to relieve lefty Will Smith to pick up the final out of the game. This firmly put to bed any further attempt of the D-Backs miraculous comeback story after being down big for the whole game.

Diamondbacks vs Rangers World Series Game 4 is tonight at 7:03 PM Central Time. The aces will be on the mound, with Nathan Eovaldi (4-0, 3.52 ERA) of the Rangers taking on Zac Gallen (2-2, 5.27 ERA) of the Diamondbacks.

The Rangers are on the cusp of winning their World Series title in franchise history. Texas is 10-0 on the road during the postseason and they hope to make that 11-0 tonight. While winning Game 6 in Arlington would make the championship win even sweeter by capturing the title in front of their home fans, they know not to take any chances, as winning the title by any means possible is infinitely better than risking choosing when to win it, or not even winning it at all.

You won't want to miss tonight's game, Arizona is fighting to keep their season alive and at least get the World Series back to Arlington for Game 6 on Friday. But, Texas...they know what they need to do...go out there and take care of business tonight, and then let the partying ensue! Which outcome will it be? Tune in tonight Game 5 on FOX to find out!
